The WCAG 2.2 Card Deck ( https://www.figma.com/community/file/1409436654182046971/wcag-2-2-card-deck ) started as a weekend project to combine multiple accessibility resources into a single, structured, and actionable toolkit - something teams can actually use. Since then, it has evolved into a practical tool for audits, reviews, training, and cross-functional collaboration.

In this short session, you'll get a closer look at how the card deck helps simplify complex criteria, reduce cognitive load, and how it can be used in practice for your product and design system work. You might even get a sneak peek at what's coming next (from decision trees over accessibility audit templates to alternate formats).

What you will learn:

- How the WCAG 2.2 Card Deck can support design, content, and dev teams in everyday accessibility decisions
- How simplified phrasing, responsibility tags, and theming make WCAG easier to understand and act on
- How teams can use the card deck in accessibility audits, documentation, and process improvements

Who is this for:

Designers, product teams, accessibility specialists, engineers, and anyone working with or contributing to a design system who wants to make accessibility more usable, visible, and actionable.

In 2024, Johannes created the WCAG 2.2 Card Deck, a free resource designed to make accessibility guidelines more approachable for designers and developers. He also supports companies through freelance work in design system development, concept creation, and integrating UX practices into organizations and existing processes.
