Design systems teams are under growing pressure to integrate AI, but knowing where to start is often the hardest part.
In this talk, we'll walk through a practical path towards an AI-enabled design system, based on real-world examples. We'll start with introducing an MCP integration as an entry point, including how to decide whether it is the right time to add something like this to your system at all. From there, we'll look at how teams can evolve beyond the first integration and gradually support more time-effective ways of working, without losing control of quality or consistency.
The talk covers both the technical side and the planning side. We'll share how to approach this work step by step, how to scope it sensibly, and how to fit it into an existing design system roadmap.
